Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

a few months back my Laptop stopped charging, I tried a few things to fix it nothing helped, I so ordered a new battery and replaced it, but now it still wont charge, I've gone into the BIOs and loaded default settings ( as I have seen that helped others) no luck, I checked the connection (3 times) it looks fine, tried a different AC adaptor and different outlet, I tried the "HP PC Hardware Diagnostics run the battery scan on there, it just cancels after 10-20 seconds,  I know it is currently out of warranty and don't have money to send it in for repairs, so if there's anything I missed that might help please let me know

I reviewed your post and I understand that the battery is not getting charged.

 

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

 

I recommend you update the BIOS from the below link and check if it helps.

If you continue facing the issue, reinstalled Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery under the device manager.

 

Here is how you do it.

 

Step 1: Click the Windows “Start” button and right-click “Computer.”

Step 2: Click “Manage,” then “Device Manager.”

Step 3: Click the “Batteries” section. A list of devices will appear.

Step 4: Right-click the “Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery” device and click “Uninstall.”

Step 5: Click the “Action” menu item and “Scan for Hardware Changes” to reinstall the driver.
