Ive got a blue HP stream laptop that has a 30 or 32 gig hard drive. No matter what I do I only end up with a max of 15 gigs or less. I ve reset this thing numberous times and searched alot on what could be the issue. The most Ive found is that it has something to do with a Windows 10 Update that took up a bunch of space on smaller devices. I have done fresh installs of Windows using the feature but I was wondering if I used a Flash drive with Windows 10 on it, 1 would that give me a true fresh start with all HD space? Or would it just kick in with the high storage update and be pointless? I did find 1 person on youtube that was able to do this but when I searched for the video after I got home from work it was taken down/deleted(showed up in my youtube saves as a deleted video). Each time I reset hoping it would clear the space the most its done has given me 15g out of 30 and kept settings and things of mine even though I used the clear all files options.
Question- Is there anyway I can get a full reset with the proper amount of space after its done on this laptop?

Hi:
You can read this excellent tutorial on how to maximize the space on your notebook.
You would have to clean install W10 to do this...
I have found that some of these cumulative Windows updates to take up a ton of storage space.
You can delete old windows update files by running the disk cleanup utility.
When the window opens, click on the Cleanup System files box and the program will launch again.
When it gets back to the disk cleanup window, check all of the boxes to delete the files.
On some of my PC's the old windows update files were taking up over 5 GB of space.

Thank you, I will give this a try and hope for the best! Ive tried something similar to what you described before. That method took me from 7 gigs to the 15 so hopefully if I do it right I can get the full 30 back. If I cant get this back to out of the box storage and without the huge updates sadly as much as I like this thing Ill have to get rid of it but Im keeping my head up and hoping for the best! Thank you for your help!
