My HP Support Assistant keeps saying my laptop battery needs calibration when it does not. I already followed the steps needed to calibrate my battery and it was a success, but the notification will not go away.

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

To resolve most HP Support Assistant issues by downloading and installing the latest version of HP Support Assistant from the HP Support Assistant website.

HP provides diagnostic software you can use to test hardware components on your computer and confirm hardware failures. The Battery Test checks your system to make sure the battery is functioning properly.

Use the following instructions to test the battery:

  1. Turn on the computer.

  2. Search for HP PC Hardware Diagnostics Windows, right-click the app in the search results, and then select Run as administrator.

    Clicking Run as administrator

If the app is not installed on your computer, download the latest version, go to HP PCs - Testing for Hardware Failures website.

  3. Click Component Tests in the main menu.

Selecting Component Tests on the Main Menu

  4. In the list of Component Tests, click Power.

    Selecting Power in Component Tests

  5. Select Battery Check, and then click Run once.

  6. Wait while the test is in progress. The Battery Test takes about two minutes.

    Waiting while the test completes

  7. Click Finish on the Component Tests page.

Clicking finish in the component test window

  8. Select Test Logs to see the results of the battery test.

Selecting Test Logs in the HP PC diagnostic main menu

  9. When the testing is done, review the test logs that display for the status or condition of the battery.

    • If your battery passed, click Main Menu or click Details for more information.

    • If your battery failed, continue with these steps.

  10. Check the table below for suggested actions, and then write down the battery status and Failure ID. Keep the battery status and Failure ID so you have them available if you need to contact HP Customer Support.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

I have already tried this solution. I have tried every single thing HP has suggested and nothing works. My battery just keeps saying it needs calibrated.

Thank you for posting back.

I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue. I would suggest performing system factory reset will put the computer back to the original factory settings in this way all corrupted and outdated software will be removed.

While doing the recovery there is an option to back up your personal files. If you have not previously done one now is a good time.

Restoring Files that were Backed Up Using HP Recovery Manager (Windows)You can also contact HP support for assistance. They can remotely access your system to help alleviate difficulties: www.hp.com/contacthp/

The HP Cloud Recovery Tool allows you to download recovery software to a USB drive. You can use the downloaded recovery image file in order to install the Windows operating system.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
