Support Assistant registered with my correct Product AND Serial numbers requested I update my system BIOS this morning. I attempted to do so THREE TIMES. Error message reads: "Install Complete, we encountered an error, please try again later." SERIOUSLY?? **bleep**? My current BIOS is: Insyde F0.5 10/22/2015 Now THREE YEARS OLD!
This Notebook features USB Type-C ports, exclusively. i.e. there are ONLY two USB-C ports to connect peripherals. Both these ports FAIL to allow standard POWER DELIVERY, power/charging via third party docking stations. This HP FAIL has been corrected in some models via a BIOS update. I'm hoping the new Spectre X2 BIOS will correct this FAILURE. I want to use a third party USB expansion dock for my notebook.
However, the HP recommended BIOS update (some 200+Mbytes) FAILS to install. AND the HP Drivers/Update site claims: "We cannot locate drivers for this product." Double **bleep**?? INEXCUSABLE! Please don't tell me these BIOS updates are unneccessary. HP Support Assistant recommended this update based on my Model and Serial number. IS Support Assistant programming so LAME as to be ignorant of proper updates? What good is it then?? More HP FAIL. Come on HP, get real, get honest, get COMPETENT! Fix this crap before you take the whole company into the toilet. 'Nuff said.

Thanks for your reply.
Product: N5S15UA#ABA
NOTE TOO, I ran the Support Assistant OS Check routine, which only DELETED records of the three BIOS install FAILS from the Activity log. Remember Watergate? The cover-up is worse than the initial crime...

Once installed, The above link to the updated BIOS F.29 DOES in fact correct the USB-C POWER DELIVERY problem created by HP. Next, HP needs to rewrite the entire HP Support Assistant code, since it currently recommends updates it cannot execute.
Finally, HP acknowleges critical FAILURES in its implementation of USB-C Power DElivery and issues a badly needed BIOS correction. STILL, HP must now address the FAILURES of its Support Assistant app. Unsurprising as HP has only succeeded at hardware - and should leave software to those who actually know how to write code.
