Why does he HP support assistant contiuously offer updates over and over again even when they have been installed already?

The latest is the Intel Inf Update utiility, but before its been management engine interface and also the message asking about an important HP security update.

I have installed all of these many times already but they keep popping up.

For some reasont he HP support assistant isn't recognising they have already been installed.

I contacted HP several times in the past and they take control of the computer and eventually stop the updates from appearing at their end..only for them to be back again later.

I already verified the above update is installing sucessfully but no doubt in some time i'll get the Intel ME update pop up again.

Thanks but this doesn't really stop anything from happening, just stops me from seeing the update.

Thanks for the reply,

When you open the HP support assistance settings page, under choose how you like to be notified have you unchecked all the checkbox?

If you are still facing the same issue, uninstall the HP Support Assistance and reinstall the  HP Support Assistance.

Below are the steps to uninstall the  HP Support Assistance.

Use the following steps to remove programs and software components from your computer hard disk drive.

  1. In Windows, search for and open Control Panel. In Control Panel, locate Programs, then click Uninstall a program.

Thanks but that doesn't solve anything. The problem is the assistant doesn't see I've already installed the updates.

Yes it's the same as before, all it does is hide notifications. It doesn't stop the updates from appearing when I check for updates.

With respect Raj and I appreciate your help.

All of these steps don't address the actual issue. The hp support assistant should not offer me the same updates repeatedly.

I can delete notifications, messages and cancel updates completely but none of these actually address the issue.

I think the problem is with hp support assistant, not with me and it needs to be fixed at HP's end.
