Hello,
I do have the same problem. My G5-Dock works properly so far but I want to update it without using flash drives ore anything else. I want my HP Support Assistant app to recognize it and to install updates/firmwares. The link which was posted here will maybe fix my problem but doesn't work anymore. Please help me to solve it. Thanks!

Hello @Timmey2506 ,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
✅ Dock firmware isn’t always published in Support Assistant
HP Support Assistant updates desktops/laptops very well. But dock firmware updates are often not exposed in its update list, especially for USB-C dock models.
How to update the dock firmware (official method)
✔️ Option A — Use HP Firmware Installer (recommended)
Go to HP Support > Software & Drivers for your dock model.
Download the HP USB-C Dock G5 Firmware Installer SoftPaq.
Example historic firmware: sp146273.exe for version 1.0.18.0.

Run the installer on your Windows PC while the dock is plugged in.
Follow the on-screen process.
Restart the dock if prompted.
💡 If HP Support Assistant doesn’t list the update, you must use the SoftPaq above or newer.
Note: The installer looks for the connected dock and then updates it. If it says no device detected, check your connection/cable and try a different USB-C port.
