HP Pavillion 15 - 15-cs3672cl
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I didn't see a 'hardware problem' group so I am posting this question here. Please transfer to the correct area if necessary.

I recently noticed that HP Support Assistant is reporting the my laptop battery need calibration.

I have tired the suggested fixes:
1. Discharge the battery fully. Recharge battery fully with laptop off.
2. Run the battery check and calibration from HP Diagnostics on boot.

I continue to have the message "Calibration needed (20)"

How do I correct this issue?

The only major recent change was updating to the latest firmware/BIOS. I don't know if the battery issue existed prior to that update.

Persistent calibration issues mean the battery is defective. You will need to make a warranty claim and HP should replace the battery free.

Thanks for the reply. I worked with HP Support and they had me perform the 'fully charge - fully discharge - fully charge (with laptop off) - still has "needs calibration" message. They are calling back tomorrow to see if the problem was resolved - obviously, it's not. I'll press for a battery replacement.
