HP Recommended

First of all - sorry for random name, I couldn't get it accept it few times so I got mad and typed even more random and it was accepted. Anyway:

My 1 year old HP laptop and Dock was performing bad after being on Windows Insider for a year or so, as I was testing some additional gear for my work. Now I wanted to go back and make it stable again.

So I did a clean install of Windows and when searching for drivers for build in network adapter I found out there's a new firmware. I thought this might resolve some issues I hade previously encountered. So I downloaded it, started the process. It got to a flashing phase as the inside fan was on full throttle for some time. Then after few minutes the program said it "Failed".

Soon I noticed the Dock is in a Boot Loop, restarting  every 10 seconds, not blinking. The power-up light turns on 5 seconds after reboot phase and it turns of with short ventilator burst. If I disconnect the Thunderdbolt connection, it stopps, but as soon as I connect it to Thunderbolt it triggers the Boot Loop again.

I read it somewhere (too late i guess) that the G4 docks have relatively high rate of failure with certain firmwares. Too bad I read it after.

Unfortunately it is out of warranty (bought 10.2024). But it's quite expensive gear to break down by official hp firmware upgrade.

I wonder if there is a way for "HP Sure Start for Docks" to heal it.
