HP ENVY x360 15.6 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 15-eu0000 (267R8AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

So I bought my Envy x360 which had the Tilt Pen 2 included.  I connect the pen to the USB c port using the supplied cable, the orange light comes on but it never turns white (as I understand it this is a signal to say the pen is fully charged).  I discovered this 2 days after purchasing my laptop, I contacted HP support who suggested I need to send the whole laptop back.

Has anybody else seen this issue?  Its clearly the pen that is faulty, I've used a friends Bluetooth pen on the laptop which works fine.  The pen is currently plugged into the USB c port, it remains on an orange light for around 10 minutes, then for about 3 seconds the light goes off, then comes back on as an orange light.  Trying to use it on the laptop achieves nothing.

HP support are suggesting the pen is not covered under warranty too....so even if I send the laptop back its unlikely to get fixed.  This just doesn't seem right!

I have always had HP kit, im on the brink of sending this back to the retailer and choose a different manufacturer as this whole malarky has me baffled.

Any help/advice appreciated!

Hi@Jarvoid,

Welcome to the HP Support Community! I'd like to help!

I see you are experiencing HP Tilt Pen issues with the HP ENVY X360 15.6 Inch 2-In-1 Laptop PC. I apologize for the Inconvenience.

I have a few recommendations

  • Update your Notebook computer to latest BIOS from HP.COM.
  • Make sure the Windows and HP support assistant updates are up to date.

If the issue persists the it could be a hardware issue.

Please reach out to the HP Technical Support team in your region regarding the service/replacement options.
