Hi @XCXVBX

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I understand that your HP Rechargeable Pen, Which is showing a continuous amber light and its not charging. I will guide you through a few checks to help determine whether this is a charging, pairing, or hardware issue. I would request you to please follow the steps:

Try a Hard Reset of the Pen

Many users don’t know this, but HP pens can be reset.

  • Disconnect the pen from charging.
  • Press and hold the top button for 15 seconds
  • Release → Wait 5 seconds
  • Press the top button once
  • Check the LED

If the LED still flashes amber when plugged in and never turns white, move to the next step.

Use a Different Charger + Cable

  • The pen requires a 5V / 0.5A stable input.
  • A different USB‑C cable
  • A different USB charger (not fast‑charging PD chargers)

If it still stays amber permanently, the battery may not be reaching its charge threshold.

Pair Manually Through Windows

Sometimes the pairing signal doesn’t trigger automatically.

  • Open Settings → Bluetooth & devices
  • Turn Bluetooth ON
  • Click Add Device → Bluetooth
  • Hold the top button on the pen for 3–5 seconds (this should trigger the white blinking LED)
