Apps cannot access the camara on my laptop, HP Laptop 15z-ef2xxx. I have tried repairing, resetting, uninstalling camara on Device Manager, then scanning for hardware changes but the apps, like the camara app cannot access the camara. This issue had happened before, but I did what I mentioned before, and the problem was resolved, but now that I am trying to do a video call, I noticed that the procedure to fix the problem no longer works. I also noticed that the HP TrueVision HD Camara gets in a refreshing loop when I try to use the camara app, in which it loops from HP TrueVision HD Camara to No Camaras Found.
I have also noticed that when I go to Camara device settings, I cannot access HP TrueVision HD Camara Basic settings as the settings window automatically return me to HP TrueVision HD Camara.
Attached are screenshots of the loops I mentioned before.

Hi @JCadena,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
I'm sorry to hear about the trouble you're experiencing with your HP TrueVision HD Camera. It must be frustrating, especially when it worked before and now it doesn't. Let's try to get to the bottom of this issue. Here are a few questions to help pinpoint the problem:
- Did the issue start after a recent Windows update or installing any new software?
- Are there any error messages in the Device Manager for the camera, such as a yellow triangle or "Code" errors?
- Have you tried testing the camera on a different app, such as Microsoft Teams or Zoom, to confirm if the issue is app-specific or system-wide?
Let's try these steps.
Check Camera Privacy Settings:
- Open Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera.
- Ensure that Camera Access and Let apps access your camera are toggled on.
- Scroll down and confirm that specific apps like the Camera app are enabled.
Reinstall Camera Driver:
- Open Device Manager > Expand Imaging Devices or Cameras > Right-click HP TrueVision HD Camera > Select Uninstall Device.
- Restart your laptop. Windows should automatically reinstall the camera driver.
Install the Latest Driver from HP's Website:
- Visit the HP Support page.
- Enter your laptop model (HP Laptop 15z-ef2xxx) and search for the latest camera driver compatible with your system.
- Download and install it, then restart your laptop.
Run Windows Troubleshooter:
- Open Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional Troubleshooters.
- Select Camera and run the troubleshooter to identify and fix any potential issues.
Test in BIOS/UEFI:
- Restart your laptop and enter the BIOS/UEFI settings (usually by pressing Esc, F10, or Delete during startup).
- Check if there’s an option to enable or disable the camera. If disabled, enable it and save changes.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, the camera itself may need repair, or there could be a deeper driver conflict that require service.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
