Common problems for Battery

I worked from home on an HP Elitebook utilizing an HP USB-C G5 docking hub until 2 weeks ago. Since I left the company I was able to retain the hub. I have a personal laptop (HP Spectre X360 2016 vintage) that I wanted to connect to it along with my HP printer and monitor.

2 problems: 1) Monitor (HP 233) is not recognized by my Spectre but oddly was by the prior Elitebook using the DisplayPort connection. 2) More importantly, I plug the hub in and the top light on the station immediately comes on and stays on. It should stay off and when pressed wake up the laptop which it does not. Doesn't do anything at present that I can see.

I checked the device properties for the hub and it lists the model but not the manufacturer or model # (unavailable). I also checked the driver which appears to be some generic hub driver and was told this is the best available.

I saw on the HP support section for this device a list of devices compatible with it. The Spectre X360 was not listed. Is that my problem? If not how can I resolve this?

My simple answer is the HP USB-C G5 dock is NOT compatible with your HP Spectre machines (many of thẹm).

Regards.
