HP USB-C Dock G5
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

When I plug my HP USB-C Dock G5 to my windows 10 laptop (surface pro 7) I got an error message saying :

"USB device not recognized
The last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognized it"

Error notification keep appearing over and over

All usb devices plugged on the dock are working great (mouse, keyboard) same for the sound output, however I have an issue with the 2 4K monitors plugged on DP ports.

1 is in 4k 3840x2160 but only 30Hz and the other one in 2560x1920 59Hz and I can't change those resolution.

Also the charging is not working.

The surface pro 7 usb-c port should be able to support all those features, and it's quite strange to get an error notification such as that one over an over.

I also tried to plug only one monitor, this time I can change the resolution but still can't get 4k 60Hz

I installed the last firmware available for the dock (during the install the usb-c charging worked for a second)

Any idea ? Is there an issue with my dock ?

Thank you for your help

I'm having the exact same problems on SP7 with G5 dock. All firmware and software was updated on SP7 and G5 dock.
