Hi,

I have a HP Spectre and I resenlty purchased the HP USB-C Docking station.  The docking is not charging my pc.  I tried to call support and after beeing on the call for over 2 hours and transfeered to several departments I was disconnected with not resolution.  Here is the information for the docking station:

Product Number: Y0K80AA

 

Please help.  the HP phone support is the worst I have ever experianced.  If you cannot help, do you have a direct number I can call?

I have a similar HP Spectre 13 laptop (Kaby Lake) and use that same HP USB-C dock.  It does successfully charge over the single USB-C cable: HP Dock for USB-A/C Laptops (Product #Y0K80AA#ABA, Amazon link).  I previously tried using a Plugable USB-C dock but that one couldn't charge because of the "unauthorized charger" error.

 

Have you installed the latest BIOS updates for your Spectre from the HP website?  For example, my Spectre model is 13-v111dx so I get the updates from: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-spectre-13-v100-notebook-pc/12499180/model/13443...
