Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello dear Community,

I am trying to connect my newly bought HP USB-C Mini Dock with my ProBook 445 G7 17T32ES#ABD Notebook. I have updated all drivers over the Software Assistant but my Notebook still can't recognize the dock. Right now I have connected the HDMI Cable to an Acer G246HL monitor display and the other end to the docking station. If I unplug and replug the USB-C cable of the docking station, the monitor wakes up for one second only to show me the "no signal" message and then it goes back to sleep. The manual of this notebook says that the USB-C port supports docking stations, displays, and charging. I bought a USB-C power adapter one week ago and it was also not recognized on this port. I am confused, because I can't find additional information what I should do to get the dock or this USB-C port to work properly.

What can I do? Or better: What do I have to do so I can focus on my work again? Thank you for your help!

The dock is compatible with

  Compatible with HP x2 1012 G2 Tablet; HP x2 612 G2 Tablet; HP ProBook 470 G5; HP ProBook 450 G5; HP ProBook 440 G5; HP ProBook 430 G5; HP Elitebook x360; HP ChromeBook 13 G1; HP EliteBook x360 1020 G2; HP EliteBook Folio G1; HP EliteBook 1040 G4

It should be compatible with HP ProBook 440 G7. Your machine is NOT an Intel machine I don't know why it is NOT on the list. Do you use an AC Adapter to supply power for it ?

Regards.

Hello @Banhien,

thank you for your response. I am NOT using an AC Adapter for passing through power. I only connected the dock on the USB-C port. Do I need an  USB-C power supply? I thought I can use the dock without any additional periphery.

The quick spec sheet for this Notebook says it is compatible with this dock, here is the link: HP ProBook 445 G7 Notebook PC

It needs power. You can use USB-C charger (if available) from machine to it. My connection is)

AC ----- USB-C charger -------- dock -------------- USB-C cable to machine

Thank you for your response. The problem was not comming from the HP Mini Dock, but from my USB-C port from my laptop. It was dead. I sent it to the customer repair service where it was replaced with a working one. The HP Mini Dock is now working completly fine.

I want to clarify for other users, that the HP Mini Dock is compatible with the HP ProBook 445 G7 17T32ES#ABD. It does NOT even need an USB-C AC Adapter to work. This statement is false. It will be powered by the laptop if no USB-C AC adapter is plugged in. You can plug in an USB-C AC power adapter to pass through power to the Laptop to charge it. But this is optional.

Case closed. Have a nice day everyone.
