HP USB-C dock G4 power button not working as prescribed

Hi all,

I have an issue with the power button on my G4 docking. When coupled to my Envy 13, everything runs superfine except for 1 thing: the power button on the dock is not having any effect. It can't be used to switch on/off the laptop. Not even when the lid is open. So I'm forced to open the lid to switch it on, even when connected to the dock. Making it pretty useless as such...

I reinstalled the hub on my laptop, updated the latest drivers and even ran the HP support Assistant but I don't get any result.

Is this a known issue at HP? I read some other topics about this with the same docking, just another laptop, but they were closed without further info...

The dock and your Envy are NOT compatible therefore you can't use all functions of the dock. Please check the lisy on the following link

Thanks for the reply! A bummer honestly since it's the only function that doesn't work. I ran another check through the HP site and it seems they don't really offer a lot of docks compatible with ENVYs that cover my needs. Anyway, I can live with it but wasn't expecting compatibility issues as all other functions work perfectly.

I have exactly the same problem with the Envy and the HP USB-C Dock G4. Why did not HP make these products compatible? Its a mystery and further more, quite stupied really. Sending the docking station back today, did you find a good alternative?
