Hi everyone, I am having a persistent issue with the integrated webcam on my HP Victus 15. The Windows Camera app displays the error "We can't find your camera." I have already tried the following troubleshooting steps, but the issue persists: Checked Privacy Shutter & Function Keys: Verified that there is no physical shutter blocking the camera and tested key combinations (e.g., Fn + Camera key). Device Manager: Checked Device Manager with "Show hidden devices" enabled. The camera is not listed under "Cameras" or "Imaging devices" at all. I also ran a scan for hardware changes. Hard Reset (Static Power Drain): Disconnected all peripherals and the power cable, held down the Power button for 20 seconds, and restarted the laptop. BIOS Reset: Entered BIOS (F10), restored default settings (F9), and saved/exited (F10). Since the hardware is not recognized by Windows at all, I suspect it might be a loose display cable or a hardware failure. Is there any other software step or diagnostic test I should try before contacting HP Authorized Support? Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi @batuyed,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I understand your HP Victus 15 integrated camera is not detected in Device Manager, even after performing a hard reset and BIOS reset. This usually indicates that Windows is not detecting the camera hardware or the camera driver is not being recognized correctly.

Please try the following steps:

  • Check for Hidden Devices: In Device Manager, click View and select Show hidden devices. Sometimes the camera may appear as a hidden device.

  • Update Drivers: Since you've already checked Windows Update and HP Support Assistant, also visit the HP Support website and check for any camera-specific drivers or software updates that may not have been included in the general updates.

  • Reinstall the Camera Driver: If the camera is listed in Device Manager (even if it isn't functioning), right-click it and select Uninstall device. Restart the laptop, and Windows should attempt to reinstall the driver automatically.

  • BIOS Settings: Since your BIOS is up to date, verify that the integrated camera is enabled in the BIOS settings, as some BIOS configurations allow the camera to be disabled.

  • Windows Troubleshooter: Run the built-in Windows Hardware and Devices Troubleshooter from Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.

  • Check ACPI Namespace: Ensure that the camera device is correctly enumerated in the ACPI namespace. If the camera is built into the chassis, it should provide the Physical Device Location (_PLD) object so Windows can recognize the device properly.

If the issue persists after completing these steps, please let us know if you see any Unknown Devices in Device Manager and share your HP Victus 15 product number along with any screenshots of Device Manager. We'll be happy to continue troubleshooting with you.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.
