Victus by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-s1000 (90P67AV)

Hello dear Community!

I have a question for you and hope you can help me.

I have an HP Victus 16 gaming laptop. My question relates to the 230-watt power supply, or more specifically,
the power plug that plugs into the power supply from the wall outlet.

Down below are pictures of the connection.
Unfortunately, I am not able to upload a video here.

You can move the plug up and down in the power supply, even though it's fully inserted.

You have to use quite a bit of force to plug it in, and it's actually firmly seated and doesn't slip out on its own.

I can't see any damage to either the plug or the power supply; visually, everything looks fine.

However, you can move the plug up and down a few millimeters vertically. It doesn't move horizontally, though.

Does anyone have experience with this and can tell me if this is normal?

If this isn't normal, what can I do?

Thank you very much!

Best regards,
Alarion

It seems like you are facing an issue with the power supply plug of your HP Victus 16 gaming laptop. The plug being able to move up and down even when fully inserted may indicate a loose connection, which can be concerning.

Here are a few steps you can try to address the issue:

Check for Debris: Ensure that there is no debris or dust inside the power jack of the laptop and the plug itself.

Inspect the Plug and Jack: Look for any visible signs of damage on the plug and the laptop's power jack. If you notice any bent pins or other damage, it might be necessary to get a replacement.

Test with Another Adapter: If possible, test with another compatible power adapter to determine if the issue persists. This can help identify whether the problem is with the power adapter itself or the laptop’s power jack.

Secure Connection: Sometimes the plug may appear loose but still makes proper electrical contact. Gently wiggle the plug to see if the laptop stays powered on and charges without interruption.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
