As you can see in the picture above, my laptop's frame first come out in the bottom right corner and now it's started coming out from left side also . My laptop is well taken care of, as it has never been dropped or anything. I don't know what to do about this. And also this usually happens after 1 year so first buyer will pay Rupees 70K to buy a laptop and then pay extra money to get repaired. This is my second HP laptop and it also got the problem that i was really scared of. Please don't buy any laptop HP especillay if it has fiber body.

Hi  @shreylukka,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I completely understand how  this must feel, especially since you’ve taken good care of your laptop and still ended up facing this hinge/frame issue. Thank you for sharing the details and the picture it really helps us understand the situation better.

For now avoid forcing the lid open/closed until the hinge is inspected, as this can worsen the damage.

Use the laptop on a flat surface and avoid pressure on the corners when opening/closing.

From the picture and your description, it looks like the hinge cover has popped out, which is a hardware issue. This will need a proper inspection and repair at an HP Authorized Service Center, since continuing to use it without fixing could cause further damage to the display or frame.

I recommend reaching out to your nearest HP service center for a hardware check , To ensure your device receives the appropriate care, we recommend visiting an authorized HP service center. Our certified technicians can provide a thorough diagnosis and offer the best solutions to address the issue.

Hello @Deep_World

I have already spoken with customer support via WhatsApp, and I was informed that my laptop is out of warranty. I was quoted ₹6,053 for a bezel replacement due to a hinge-related hardware issue.

What is disappointing is that the laptop is only 1 year and 4 months old and was purchased for approximately ₹75,000. Despite taking proper care of the device, I am now being asked to pay an additional ₹6,000+ for a problem that was not caused by misuse or accidental damage on my part.

Moreover, HP laptops have had well-documented hinge-related issues for years, and there are numerous customer complaints regarding the same problem. Given the frequency of these reports, this appears to be a recurring design or manufacturing concern rather than an isolated case.

As a customer, it is frustrating to bear the cost of repairing what seems to be a known product weakness. When the same issue continues to affect many customers over multiple product generations, it raises concerns about whether enough has been done to address the root cause. From a customer’s perspective, it can sometimes feel as though recurring repairs and replacement parts have become an accepted part of the ownership experience rather than the underlying issue being permanently resolved.

I respectfully request that HP review my case and consider providing goodwill support or a complimentary repair, as I do not believe it is reasonable for customers to pay for a recurring issue that appears to stem from the product itself rather than user negligence.
