Hello,
I have a problem with my sound for the HP Victus Gaming Laptop 16-s0105nq, running under Windows 11 OS, latest Windows updates, latest HP BIOS and latest Realtek driver as of March 2024.
Every day after several minutes/hours of internet browsing, Microsoft Office tasks and resuming from a Sleep state, all sound is interrupted, resulting in no sound, an "X" over the Sounds taskbar icon, and the dissapearance of the sound card in the Device Manager - Sound, video and game controllers.
The problem is solved temporarly by restarting the laptop.
As far as I know, the laptop's sound card is from Realtek and drivers are from Realtek. Despite being a software problem, I also believe in the possibility that the problem is at driver-hardware level.
Thank you very much

Good evening,
Have you used the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI Utility component test-->Audio to check the hardware at the firmware level?
From an off state press the power button and then tap the F2 key to invoke the Diagnostics utility.
Do you have the driver version below installed for Realtek HD Audio?
- 6.0.9499.1 Rev.A
- 56.1 MB
- Aug 16, 2023
If the Diagnostics utility shows pass on Audio tests, t he issue is most likely due to the Sleep state usage.
A "driver-hardware level" is two levels of the seven layer OSI model.

Good evening,
And thanks for volunteering, unfortunately F2 Diagnostics utility on startup mentioned no hardware errors for sound. Last Realtek driver version (6.0.9499.1 Rev. A) is installed.
I might have fixed the problem myself from a registry tweak for the driver, I'll leave it below if anyone else dares to try it out:
1. Right click on Start, and then click "Run"
2. Enter "regedit" in the Open field, click "Ok"
3. In the top bar of the registry editor, where "Computer" is written, replace with "Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4d36e96c-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}"
5. In the left panel, browse the 4 digit folders (or keys) until you see "Realtek High Definition Driver" in the right panel (for me it's key "0002")
6. Expand this key and click the "PowerSettings" key
7, Double click on all REG_BINARY values in the right panel and type "FF FF FF FF" and click Ok for all.
(If number 3. doesn't lead you to anywhere then you have to manually search for the following Binary Values: ConservationIdleTime, IdlePowerState, PerformanceIdleTime)
I hope that my contribution will lead to HP or Realtek fixing something..
