Here's the Service manual:
The processor is socketed so you theoretically could install up to a i7-4900MQ going from your i7-4700MQ means 2.4 hghz and 6 meg L3 cache to 2.8 ghz and 8 megs L3 cache so not a minor upgrade but that i7-4900MQ is still going to be very expensive.
In order to game to the maximum potential I think you should focus on the MXM video card, which is also going to cost you an arm and a leg to purchase if you go with something current and high end.
This is the best one offered by HP from the factory:
NVIDIA Quadro K2100M NVIDIA N15P-Q3 graphics board 734277-001
There has been a claim that someone got a GeForce GTX1070 installed in your model laptop but I would be skeptical:

The Zbook is designed for production engineering work and while the Quadro cards are powerful they are not optimized for gaming. I have personally upgraded my Zbook 15 G3 MXM card but stuck with the Quadro options. But I have secured the parts and know where the MXM upgrade sites and such are. Its kind of a cult of unofficial hardware upgraders. HP will not officially support anything other than the Quadro K2100M, which is a little better than your K1100M but the difference will not be worth the cost and effort.
Its not a significant performance delta:
