HP ZBook 17 G2 Mobile Workstation
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hi,

I have an HP ZBook 17'' G2, product number J8Z38EA#UUZ and I wanted to expand the RAM. The pc had an initial 8GB of RAM and just out of the box I added 2 banks of 4GB each to go to 16GB, but now that I want to go to 32GB, I can't find the position of the initial 8GB RAM the pc shipped with.
Since I can easly access to the added RAM, I wanted to know if somebody knew if the original 8GB of RAM is welded to the motherboard? Can I really go up to 32GB with this model? Is there a reason why the RAM is not all in the same place?
Thanks fot the attention, waiting for answers.

The original 4GB memory modules are in the primary memory slots.

Unfortunately, I have not been able to find a video that depicts upgrading memory for your ZBook. Pages 55-61 in the Maintenence & Service guide does have images and descriptions of how to access the modules.
