wanting to know the location of the hdd that comes with the machine as i want to remove it but unable to locate it.

Start on p. 40 to remove rear door. In the lower right corner is the bay for the 2.5 inch standard old school hard drive:

However, there are also three slots for newer type M.2 "Gumstick" SSDs.

 

You can see one of them above the hard drive slot and then there is another one over on the opposite side above the battery.

 

Post back if using this information you are still unable to find the hard drive. Its very possible you only have one of the smaller gumstick type M.2 SSDs and no 2.5 inch hard drive.

thanks for the reply but i am aware of these pages but the origional drive that comes with the machine still cannot be found have no idea where it is located in the machine. i want to remove it and replace it with a new bigger hard drive. do you think i can see where in the machine it is located. have no idea...

there are plenty spaces to add new drives but the one that comes with the machine is no where to be found. dunno if its a chip or something.

You might need to take a picture. There is no secret hidden drive compartment.

it is crazy hidden 

 

i just had the whole back off and located it but i cant get to it

 

its on the top of the system board exactly opposite the slot marked ssd 2

 

no idea how to get to it without totally removing the system board but thats where it is
