@jjvdb1,

The service manual (on page 2) states that your model supports M.2 NVMe gen4x4 SSD up to 4 TB in capacity, so a 4 TB Samsung 990 Pro SSD should work to its fullest specs.

thanks for the reply it was helpful

the fury seems to have  only 500gb ssd

i see many youtubes on upgrading ssd,    i dont want to upgrade and replace it,

but i want to add 4TB  samsung 990 .

is that a problem?  do i simply add it to any slot that is spare?   assuming slot 3 is the one that will be free for instance?

I suppose HP tested and verified 4 TB M.2 NVMe gen4x4 SSDs work properly in ZBook Fury G11.

So, you can expect a 4 TB Samsung 990 Pro gen4 SSD to work fine in your model.

See the note on page 51 of the manual that reads," NOTE: To ensure correct operation, the 4 TB SSD must be installed in drive slot 2 or 4." This tells you a 4 TB Samsung must be installed either in M.2 slot 2 or 4.

Also, read instruction #9 on page 54 that indicates M.2 SSDs must be installed in sequential order.

You need to read pages 51-54 of the manual carefully.
