HP Thunderbolt Dock 280W G4 w/Combo Cable
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My work setup is as described in the subject, plus two LG 4K HDR monitors with DisplayPort 1.4 connectivity (model 32BN50U).

Since getting my new setup, the monitors are seen by Windows correctly, but when the monitors go to sleep due to either locking & walking away from the computer for a long enough period or due to powering down the laptop, they refuse to wake back up unless I power cycle the monitors. Even when "asleep", Windows still detects them and tries to use them.

I have numerous coworkers with this same Thunderbolt dock and this same issue, with various generations of the HP ZBook and various generations of the Thunderbolt dock.

A Helpdesk tech had me run HP Image Assistant and installed the following:
VHP Thunderbolt Dock G4 - Firmware V 1.5.22.0
All Docks- Ethernet Driver (Intel) V 1.1.4.42
HP BIOS and System Firmware (V99) V 01.05.05
Intel Sensor Hub Components Driver for RPL V 3.1.0.4594
Intel HID Event Filter Driver V 2.2.2.5
Intel Innovation Platform Framework V 1.0.11406.42226
Intel Video Driver and Control Panel V 31.0.101.5388
Intel Management Engine Driver V 2407.5.59.0
Intel Serial 10 Driver V 30.100.2328.32
Intel WLAN Driver V 23.40.0.4
Intel Bluetooth Driver V 23.30.0.3
Realtek HD Audio Driver V 6.0.9655.1
VNVIDIA Video Driverand Control Panel V 32.0.15.5612
Realtek PC I e Media Card Reader Driver V 10.0.22631.21370
HP Hotkey Support - UWP V 8.10.43.191
Synaptics FS7600 WBF Touch Fingerprint Driver V 6.0.127.1110
Intel Thunderbolt Driver V 1.41.1379.0

He chose to NOT install the following:

HP Notifications V 1.1.30.38 A 1
HP Smart Health V 2.3.201.0
System Default Settings V 1.4.16.22

It didn't help - the monitors still don't wake unless power cycled.

Additional info:
OS: Windows 10 Enterprise, 22H2

OS Build: 19045.4780

Experience Pack: 1000.19060.1000.0

I previously had a Microsoft Surface Laptop 8 + docking station and had zero issues with the monitors with that configuration. The only change made to use these monitors with the new configuration is that adapters to convert the Dock side connection from DisplayPort to USB-C for the Surface dock are no longer used as they aren't needed on the HP dock. The actual DisplayPort cables are the same.
