I own a ZBook 15 G3 with Quadro M2000M now, and I'd like to upgrade the GPU.
According to the latest official graphic driver 30.0.14.7298 Rev.W, it seems only support to P2000.
I found some company manufacturing embedded systems which also manufactures Quadro T1000, RTX A2000 in the MXM 3.1 Type A form factor.

I wonder is it possible to upgrade the latest (Quadro RTX A2000) GPUs although they're not officially supported by the HP released driver.

Looks like its NVIDIA® Quadro® M1000M NVIDIA N16P-Q1 with 2-GB GDDR5 graphics subsystem memory (128-MB×16, 1.35-V, 1400-MHz, qty 8, 128-bit, FBW) is included with the System board that means the video card is soldered to the motherboard and non-upgradable.

Yeah I own one and can confirm the video card is an MXM form factor and can be upgraded. I have the Quadro M2000M in mine. Options are limited. You are not going to be able to upgrade to the very latest MXM video cards. There is no heat sink made to work with them in your laptop, just for starters. You can only use MXM-A v. 3.0 cards and not even all of those will work.
