HP Zbook 15 G5 GPU/CPU soldered?

Hi,

Would you happen to know whether the Zbook 15 G5 Workstation model (the full blown Workstation model, not V, U or Studio models) comes with MXM module video cards? The only info I found is this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qETSSbAcgJ8) which shows the GPU (in fact CPU as well) soldered to motherboard. Can you confirm whether this is actually the case or not, so I would know whether to buy one or not (hate soldered stuff).

Yes they are both soldered to the system board.

Why would they do that on what they claim is a true Workstation? Video upgrades - gone. CPU upgrades - gone. Next thing they might do is solder RAM as well?

I have 2 older Zbook 17 G2's and the CPU/GPU are both replaceable.

Even the EliteBook 8770w that I'm using now can be upgraded???

@REO51ST I found the following document where you can clearly see that there are MXM formats of the P1000 and P2000 quadro cards for the Zbook 15 G5. Also these variants are available for the SFF and Z mini stations.
