HP Recommended
Ubuntu LTS
Hi I purchased laptop HP Zbook G9 with Windows 10 installed. I think it was Windows 10, I did not check the Windows version. Then I did backup of the M2 drive with Windows just in case and inserted into additional M2 slot another drive and installed on original ssd drive Fedora 37 and on my M2 SSD Ubuntu 22.04. The fingerprint scanner doesn't work in both Ubuntu 22.04 and Fedora 37.

This is the error I got in Fedora 37 (Ubuntu 22.04 & Ubuntu 22.10 same)

```
[root@fedora john]# fprintd-enroll
Using device /net/reactivated/Fprint/Device/0
Enrolling right-index-finger finger.
Enroll result: enroll-stage-passed
Enroll result: enroll-unknown-error
[root@fedora john]#
```

I even tried before Fedora 37 install Ubuntu 22.10, exactly same result.
I can confirm that finger print scanner was working in Windows before I did all my changes. BTW, I just remembered one thing. Before trying Ubuntu & Fedora, I have restored from a backup Windows onto original SSD and when I wanted to login it was saying finger print was lost. At that moment I did not pay attention to it.

 I found out that my finger prints scanner device `Bus 003 Device 004: ID 04f3:0c7e Elan Microelectronics Corp. ELAN:ARM-M4` is supported and listed here https://fprint.freedesktop.org/supported-devices.html, but for some reason when I executed lsusb -v it says `Couldn't open device, some information will be missing`. I wonder what is so special in HP G9 Zbook Laptop so that finger print device doesn't work in Ubuntu 22.04.1 / 22.10 & Fedora. Actually it also complaints it can't open next `Bus 003 Device 067: ID 14cd:1212 Super Top microSD card reader (SY-T18)` device.
