While using windwos 10 in my pc suddenly my pc went off. I pressed the power button and turned on it again, but the boot process took about 2 hour and never booted to windows 10. Then i forced powerd off by long pressing the power button. Then i turned it on again by pressing the power key, this time it showed an error code and restarted. Next time the thing repeated and showed a different error code. My pc was on a boot loop. The recovery also resulted in an error code. So i forwarded to formating my pc and re doing windows 10. But this also ended up in an error. I tried to install ubuntu, but the partitioning ends up in failure. Because every time it shows an error code which is different from previous. I went through the solutions for the error codes every time one comes up, but it resulted in another error. Now my hard disk is completly formatted and no os installed in it. I can't install any debain or linux based os because of the partitioning issue. Last time when i turned on my pc HP smart hardisk check poped up. I forwarded through the steps and the result was "HP smart hard disk check failed". There wasn't a progress bar, it showed the result as soon as i started the test. As far as i know my hard disk has some soft bad sectors. But i can't repair it without any operating system. I also can't install one. Can anyone help me with rectifying these soft bad sectors? I don't know what to do next!

Well touche for getting the distinction but the thought is accurate. If Linux can't prepare the drive for installation the drive is seriously in trouble not just a couple bad sectors which could be mapped and avoided. You need a new hard drive.

You are going to need to replace the hard drive. If Ubuntu can't format it, then it is badly compromised.

Actually ubuntu can format it. But it can't repartition it!
