Hi @Veena9,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP laptop is experiencing fast battery drain and charging issues, here are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem:
1. Check Battery Health
- HP Support Assistant: Use the HP Support Assistant tool to check the battery's health:
- Open HP Support Assistant.
- Go to the Diagnostics section and select Battery Check.
2. Adjust Power Settings
- Switch to a power-saving mode to help extend battery life:
- Go to Settings > System > Power & sleep.
- Click on Additional power settings and choose Power saver.
3. Update Drivers
- Ensure all your drivers, especially battery and chipset drivers, are up to date:
- Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.
- Expand Batteries, right-click on your battery drivers, and select Update driver.
4. Check for Background Processes
- Use Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) to check for applications that may be consuming excessive battery power. Look for any processes that are using high CPU or disk usage and close them.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
