Common problems for Battery

Hello! I might have a problem with my charger. I'm planning on buying a new one, but I want to make sure I understand the problem properly and that I won't waste money.
I have had my laptop since 2021, and recently (around November-December 2024) I noticed the problem. I play a lot of games that require a lot of resources (Like Honkai Star Rail and Genshin Impact). While I was playing a game, my laptop suddenly turned off and I had to wait some time before I could turn it on again. When I did, everything was alright until I opened the game again. I decided to leave my laptop turned off for a day or so, and everything was back to normal. But some time later it happened again. I then noticed that my charger was extremely hot. It also wasn't charging.
I'm not sure if it's my charger's fault or my laptop, but I'm extremely worried. Am I thinking right to replace my charger? Or is that not the problem? I'm not a tech person, so I'm not sure.
(I'm sorry for any grammar issues, English isn't my first language. It's also my first time posting here so let me know if I have to explain more things.)

Its actually possible its the battery not the charger. When a battery gets older it can take more power to charge it up....the cells become resistant to accepting a charge. The adapter heats up as a result because it has to do more work. As long as the adapter is charging the battery it is not likely there is any issue with the charger. Have you run a diagnostic test on the battery? It can also be a buildup of dust around the processor fan causing the adapter to run hot.

I did run diagnostic tests some days ago. It said that my battery is fine, but it overheats and I have to let my laptop cool down for 30 minutes. (Or something like that. When I ran the test again just now, it said that my battery is normal.) But even if I do let it cool down for more than 30 minutes, it just overheats again.

Currently, I'm not playing anything, yet the charger is still overheating.

Also, is this why my battery runs out so fast and charges so slowly?

I forgot to add: when I plug my charger normally, it doesn't charge. I have to rotate it slightly for it to charge. I just realized that this might be the problem about the charger.

If you can please post the advanced information for the battery. It will continue to say "OK" even when there is significant degradation. Now from your further description its possible there is physical damage to the charger. Look in the plug and see if maybe the center wire is bent. That can definitely cause the adapter to heat up and other problems, too. Its also possible the power jack in the laptop is having issues.
