Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I recently bought HP dr0006tx laptop and I want to add SSD with this laptop. I am not getting any info on m.2 slot.

Can you please let me know whether this machine support M.2 slot or not?

Thanks,

Bhaskar R

You have provided incomplete model name of your machine.

If your notebook is this:

https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c06098222

Then this notebook came with Intel core 8th gen processor

There is support for M.2 2280 SSD, either PCIe NVMe or SATA-3. I'll go for M.2 PCIe NVMe and make it as boot drive and keep hard drive for storage alone.

Hi Bhaskar R,

The service manual mentions support for M2 SATA3 and PCIe NVMe SSD. It is a good idea to remove the bottom cover and take a look if the slot is present on the motherboard as sometimes notebooks that did not come with M2 SSD are missing the physical slot.

On page 39 of the service manual, you can see the steps to remove the bottom cover.

If the slot is present you could insert a real fast SSD such as the M2 Samsung 970 Evo Plus

Example:

You will need to install the OS on the SSD for performance gain.

Hop[e it helps,

David
