Hello,

My HP elite x2 1011 g1 has Core M-5Y10c 4gb ram motherboard. My question is can I upgrade it with Core M-5Y71 8gb ram motherboard?

Yes, please use the right part  # on the following manual (page 52):

But, the total cost would be ending up same price of a totally new machine. Why not buy new machine and keep the old one as backup ?

Mine seems to be: 

Equipped with an Intel Core i3 M-5Y10c processor, 4.0-GB of system memory, and the Windows 10 or Windows 8 Professional operating system spare part 805068-601

 

So I can swap with Equipped with an Intel Core i7 M-5Y71 processor, 8.0-GB of system memory, and a non-Windows operating system spare part 805071-001?

Is this correct? And keep the windows 10 on the SSD , and active it trough my windows account, right?

 

I found a reasonable cheap brand new motherboard, that’s the reason to want upgrade, and keep mine as spare part.
