Hard drive failure code GURHV3-8T8BMM-GXGGRF-60WE03 replacement drive is a part not orderable. What drive will replace this one? 766644-005 is the part number. I1TB 7200RPM SATA RAW 9 RoHS: compliant / exempted. Where do I get Win 10 to reinstall?
Thanks!
Charles

H, Charles:
Since you have to replace the drive, you may as well upgrade it to a 2.5" 1 TB solid state drive, which will provide much better performance than a mechanical hard drive will.
I recommend this model:
Below is the link to the service manual, where you can find the hard drive removal and replacement procedure.
After you replace the drive, use another PC and install the HP cloud recovery tool which will create a bootable recovery drive that will reinstall Windows, the drivers and the software that originally came with your PC.
Here is an info link for how to use the utility...You will need a 32 GB USB flash drive to create the recovery media with.
HP Consumer PCs - Using the HP Cloud Recovery Tool in Windows 11 and 10 | HP® Customer Support
If you have to use the recovery tool on another PC, you will need to enter your PC's full product number in the tool's search window, which is X7U53UA#ABA

Hi Paul,
Thanks for the help! SanDisk was a great recommendation. Fit perfectly and the Service Manual link is right on also. Reviewed 2 procedures in it and unbuttoned unit, replaced drive and buttoned it back up.
I did have to deviate from the Using the Cloud Recovery tool in Windows 11 and 10 link. I couldn't get a bootable USB drive created. It did create a very small file structure with CMD prompt executable, and it wouldn't boot with new drive in pc. Fortunately, I did register for the 3 envys bought a few years ago (Warranty expired about 2 weeks ago). Once logged in to my HP support account, I drilled down into the OS data and found a link to create a Create Windows 10 installation media link. This one worked perfectly! Of course my HP envy hard drive died almost nearly the same time. 2nd SanDisk HD comes in tomorrow and it should be back up and running in a day or so. Thanks Again!
