Hello! I have an HP Spectre laptop that I bought in 2018. In 2022, I paid a lot to have the motherboard replaced by HP because my laptop was not turning on or charging. Recently, the same issue happened again. Is there anything I can do at this point other than getting it replaced yet again or buying a new laptop? It seems like the hardware is not good quality or I keep getting lemons. I barely use my laptop, maybe only once a week, so there’s no reason the motherboard should keep breaking. I tried to call the support number and they were not very helpful, only telling me to buy a new laptop. Any help from you will be greatly appreciated!

@Clplusjb, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding HP Laptop Issues!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Power Cycle the Laptop:
- Disconnect all peripherals and including the power adapter.
- Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds to ensure that all residual power is drained.
- Try connecting the power adapter and turn on the laptop again.
Check the Power Adapter and Battery:
- Ensure that the power adapter is functioning correctly and that the connection is secure.
- You might want to try a different adapter if available to rule out an adapter issue.
- Verify that the battery is not damaged or swollen, which can cause power issues.
Inspect for Physical Damage:
- Examine if there is any visible damage or corrosion on the power connector or motherboard components if accessible.
- Look for any signs of overheating, as excessive heat can damage internal components over time.
Update Laptop BIOS/Firmware:
- Ensure your laptop's BIOS is updated to the latest version, as sometimes these updates can resolve hardware compatibility issues.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
