Hi,
I would like to upgrade from 4GB RAM to 2x4GB sticks. Do I have to diassemble first to be sure my G72 has two slots? It's my understanding that this sytem can support up to 8GB. I'd like to change out the 320GB HDD to 256+SSD, too - is there room for that?
Thank you,

I don't know what is your HP G72 therefore very hard to say. It must me G72-something. But in general:
1. For RAM: for a normal G72, it has
2 customer-accessible/upgradable SODIMM slots
Supports dual-channel memory DDR3, 1333 MHz
Supports up to 8 GB of system memory (max)
2. For HDD/SSD: Yes, you can replace existing HDD with a 500GB or more 2.5" SSD
I normally recommend RAM and SSD from Crucial but you can buy from other vendors. The following link shows upgrade options 1 typical HP G72 machine (which is hp-g72-227wm😞
