HP Notebook - 17-ca0054cl
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hinge on right side of my HP model 17-ca0054cl suddenly locked and is pulling the laptop apart if you try to close it. It has not been dropped or damaged. How do I fix this?

We are really sorry that you are facing hinge-related issues with your HP Notebook - 17-Ca0054cl. We’d hate for you to be stuck with a product, which gives trouble. You don’t deserve that.

 

Since it is a hardware-related concern, We have a different team that handles hardware-related issues. I would suggest you please contact our phone support team and they will be able to assist you. 

 

1) Click on this link -   https://www.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp/ww-phone-assist.html 

2) Select your product type below. 

3) Enter the serial of your device. 

4) Select the country from the drop-down. 

5) Select the chat or get phone number options based on your preferences. 

6)Fill out the web-form and proceed further. 

 

If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. If yes? please reply to this message with the region you are contacting us from. Check next to your profile name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.

I have the same problem. The left hinge has locked and I can't open the lid.  This is a critical issue for me - can you help?  I'm unable to contact support because the contact form won't proceed without a serial number and I can't open the laptop to get the serial number. It's a Pavillion notebook.
