My husband I both have HP 17 laptops he cant close it or the platstic will crack. It lifts up the corner. My hinge cover popped off and now my laptop pops/snaps in a sense when Im closing it. THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RECALL HP. WAKE UP HP!! Its obviously an issue because i see so many people online looking for help with it. So imagine how many more out there with the same issue that havent posted online for help. So frustrating since the cost to fix it is ridiculous do to the fact that the vital cables from the laptop motherboard into the LCD display run through the hinges. We were quoted $275 and $320. Multiply that by 2 since both of our laptops need it. My laptop is only 3 years old. Cmon HP. If we are foced to purchase new computers due to this issue, we are definitly not buying HP. Its a shame.
