Hi,

I bought an HP laptop with core i3 processor and Windows 8 OS in Sept 2013.

From a month or two I am noticing that whenever I charge my laptop, ithe charger get very hot. Some times I got afraid and Stop the charging.

Is it normal that charger get too hot to touch within a use of almost 5 months?

Thanks In Advance

Hey ankitavyas,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

With the charge getting hot, from what I have read this is normal. I have included a link to Yahoo Answers that has an accumulation of all the information that I have read. The link is 'Why does my laptop charger adapter get very hot?'.

I would like to also confirm some information with you, to see if I can narrow down why it has started to become hot.

1. Can you hold the power adapter in your hand without feeling like it is burning, or is it just warm in your hand?
2. Have you made any hardware changes to your notebook? (ie. change the hard drive)
3. If you have made any hardware changes, what did you change?
4. What is the full model number of the notebook? I have included the document 'Guide to finding your product number'.

Looking forward to hearing from you. 🙂

My laptop charger also gets hot. I have the Omen ce031-tx. I wonder why the charger gets so hot even without me playing any games.
