Hi,
My HP laptop having warned me of a ssd failure (Short DST test failed), I decided to replace it myself.
(As a precision, the warranty expired)
It will be my first time replacing a PC component. (I however found HP tutorials on this topic)
Could you enlighten me concerning the tools to use (antistatic material, ...), and the precautions before doing the operation ?
Thank you for your help !
Have a nice afternoon,
Sophie

Here is the Service Manual:
Tools required
You will need the following tools to complete the removal and replacement procedures:
●Flat-bladed screw driver
●Magnetic screw driver
●Phillips P0 screw driver
●Torx5 screw driver
Antistatic and other cautions are laid out on pp. 25-29.
Once you get the back off (see p. 30), it looks like this inside:
red arrow points to SSD
Don't touch the gold leads on the M.2 SSD. Insert it into the slot at an angle. Generally don't force anything. Pay attention to the part about removing the rubber strip. Don't stretch it out or it will not fit back in the channel. Watch out for the bottom cover retention hooks. The Manual (p. 32) seems to suggest you need to remove them but just be careful with them.. Other than that, easy peasy.
