Hi,
Greetings !
Last year when I purchase my laptop HP 17-by1053DX, I asked one question if I can add the hard drive to my computer.
To my question I got reply from HP community (praveen196(HP Support Agent))-
"This product supports dual configuration.
Dual storage FonƭgurDtions (7th and 8th generation Intel Core processors):
256 GB, PCIe, solid-state drive + 1 TB, 5400 rpm hard drive
256 GB, SATA-3, TLC, solid-state drive + 1 TB, 5400 rpm hard drive
128 GB, SATA-3, TLC, solid-state drive + 1 TB, 5400 rpm hard drive "
So If I want to add dual hard disk, Do I need to remove CD ROM Drive and replace it with Second Hard drive device? Or is there any slot available in my laptop 17-by1053DX where I can add additional hard disk along with CD ROM Drive?
Please assist on my email id - [Private information removed]
Looking forward to expect a response

Its specs
https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c06406376
It has 256 GB PCIe® NVMe™ M.2 SSD that means you can add 2.5" HDD/SSD to your machine (no need to remove ODD/CD ROM drive) but you need more part; machine has empty bay for adding 2.5" HDD already.
Page 42 of the following manual shows you which part # you need (hard drive cover) and how to add/replace 2.5" HDD/SSD
