Welcome to HP Community
I have gone through your Post and would like to help
As per the Service Guide: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06248419.pdf, this Notebook supports up to 16 GB Ram and certain models support SSD drives as well
Thank you

I understand your concerns.
I have checked the manual (page number 4).
Two customer-accessible/upgradable memory module slots Support for DDR3L (1600-MHz) dual-channel Support for 8192-MB of system RAM in the following configurations:
● 8192-MB (8192-MB×1, 4096- MB×2)
● 6144-MB (4096-MB+2048-MB)
● 4096-MB (4096-MB×1, 2048- MB×2)
● 2048-MB (2048-MB×1)
According to the manual, your product will not support SSD. There is no slot.
Have a nice day!!
