I fixed myself a HP pavilion gaming15-dk2000 but ı keep getting the "An issue occurred with the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti with Max-Q Design. Search for 'graphics device driver error code 43' for more information." and everytime ı try to fix thi error it fails without a beat... the only thing ı can think now is the bios and the driver isnt compatible for some godgiven reason. Where can ı find an old bios for this **bleep** laptop? the current driver is "32.0.15.7703" in the device manager adn ı have a "!" symbol in the corner of the 1660 TI... HELP.

Hi @mrgry,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
I understand your GTX 1660 Ti GPU in the HP Pavilion Gaming 15-dk2000 is throwing Error 43, and usual driver fixes aren’t working. Let’s work through some checks and methods (including BIOS) to try to restore it.
1. Basic checks & clean driver reinstall
Use DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) in Safe Mode to completely remove all NVIDIA + Intel (or integrated GPU) drivers.
Reboot normally and install the latest certified driver from NVIDIA’s website (for GTX 1660 Ti) or from HP’s support page.
After install, reboot again and check Device Manager for error.
2. Check for Windows / driver conflicts
Make sure Windows is fully updated (including optional / optional driver updates).
Disable fast startup (in Windows Power Options) and see if that helps.
In BIOS/UEFI settings, ensure “Discrete Graphics” / “Switchable Graphics” (if available) is enabled correctly.
3. Reset BIOS / Clear CMOS
In BIOS, load “Setup Defaults” or “Factory Defaults.”
Save and exit, then test again.
Some HP laptops allow BIOS recovery (e.g. Win + B at boot) to revert to last known good BIOS version.
I hope this helps.

well ı tried all of those and some more for the last 3 weeks and the only thing ı can think of is its either the bios that turning 1660-TI gpu into useless weigh with some compatibility issues or my gpu is physicly damaged(unlikely this laptop was sitting on a corner for the last year on the shop and the problem was the battery which ı removed). I did not see any damage on the motherboard when ı was applying thermal paste and there wasnt any burnt/wather damage on the board, screen or on the keyboard and everything works exept the gpu itself.
if you have any other ideas why gpu doesnt work and gives the 43 error ıt whould be helpfull. if nothing works and the gpu is bricked and says " nah bro ı am dead" ı will turn this old fart into a linux server and put it in the most dusty place ı can find.
Thanks.

Hi @mrgry,
Thank you for getting back to us and sharing the additional details. I understand how frustrating it must be to still encounter the Code 43 error after trying all the standard fixes.
Since you’ve already reinstalled drivers, updated Windows, and checked for physical damage, here are the next steps to further isolate the issue:
1. Confirm BIOS & Firmware
Visit the HP Software & Drivers page for your HP Pavilion Gaming 15-dk2000.
Make sure your BIOS is on the latest stable release recommended for your exact product model.
If it’s already on the latest, perform a BIOS recovery:
Power off the laptop.
Hold Windows + B keys and press the power button for about 2–3 seconds.
Release the power button but keep holding Windows + B until you see the BIOS recovery screen.
Reset BIOS to Factory Defaults after recovery.
I hope this helps.
