HP has produced and brought to market more than a thousand different models of notebooks and desktop PCs over the years.
It is difficult to help you if we don't know which specific model you own..
Method #1: If the notebook will boot into Windows, you can retrieve your Product Number by pressing Fn + Esc key.
Method #2: Press the power button and immediately tap the F10 key to invoke the BIOS. In the Main section, you will find the Product number or Product ID. Post that in your next reply in your thread.
Method #3: Press the power button and immediately tap the F2 key.
Method #4: If powering on is not an option, take a look at the bottom of the laptop for the label with the product name and product number. For a desktop look at the rear for the label.
If your laptop has HP Hardware Diagnostics UEFI version 10.3.0.0, there is a System Information section that also has the Product ID.
We need that information, along with the installed Operating System information to help you.

Unfortunately 17-cp3000 (799U9AV) is the generic model series product name and product number.

Take a look at the specifications document and you will see what I mean. Look at the display options.

It does not help give me insight about the specific hardware configuration of your laptop.
If you are able to access the BIOS system information section, you can provide the product name and product number for your specific laptop within the generic model series.
Does your laptop not have a display that will let you view the BIOS or Windows system information dialogue??

Your laptop is a 17-cp3047nr
The display assembly HP part number is M12356-LG1.
The only way to find that number is to use the HP Part Surfer. The Maintenance & service guide Illustrated parts catalog only lists separate parts of the LCD display. Replacing a separate part of the display is seriously involved and difficult for most people, even technicians.
You can use the serial number to search in the HP PartSurfer as I did to see which parts are in your laptop.

Replacement display assembly online sources. It is surprisingly relatively inexpensive, but it appears that you will still need to locate the proper sized double-sided tape to install it.
