Did HP pull all their product specifications from the internet? As an example:
Previously I could search for "HP 15-AY020DS specifications" and I was taken to a nice chart of the product specs. Now, no matter what model I search for, an HP page comes up but says "we're sorry. We can't seem to find the page you are looking for".
Why would HP pull product specs from the internet? Makes no sense unless a server is down or something....

I think that it is a combination of both.
Some sites are currently down, and on some older models they have removed the spec page.
But here is a trick I discovered...for the specific model you referenced, using Microsoft Edge, if you search the model, you get the 'we're' sorry message.
However, the cached page still works, so above the main search line click on -- the little drop-down arrow 'cached' and the page will appear.

Not every spec link has the line above the main link.
I have attached a word document with a screenshot of the link I posted for you.
The main blue link with the 15-ay020ds, when you click on it, you get the "We're Sorry...." page.
Look above that link and will see the smaller black link.
On the right side of that link is the little black carat pointing down.
Click on that and the little 'cached' square opens up.
Click on the cached link inside that square, and it should open the cached webpage with the info you are looking for.
In this case, the product specs.
Hope that helps explain it a little better.
Once you get used to it, you will be able to find what you are looking for in seconds as long as there is a black link with that little carat above the main link.
On some of the cached pages you will first see what looks like a giant 'bell.'
Scroll down lower on the page and you will eventually find the specs listed below that stuff.

Paul,
I need assistance finding a BIOS file for HP laptop (15-AN051DX). Can you help with this? The support page for the model says there are no software files available for download. I have run into this for several HP models, and I don't know what to do now if I need a BIOS file.
Thanks.

Unfortunately, I will not be able to help you with your request.
HP has removed driver support for the model series, and the 3rd party driver website that I usually go to in order to find drivers for older notebooks, does not have any drivers for the 15-an0xx model series.
Nor can I find any posts referencing a BIOS update sp##### file I could at least try and look for.
