Thanks for the reply, Paul, I highly appreciate it.

I can understand removing old, outdated drivers from the model series, but removing the BIOS files really makes no sense.  I repair HP laptops and need to recover corrupt BIOS frequently so not having the files available is really going to hurt.  Customers will have to junk their machines.

Take care and thanks again!

You're very welcome.

I agree with you 100%.

A couple of weeks ago I asked our forum managers to please communicate to HP to please reconsider removing driver support for older PCs.

Also, their driver support policy is inconsistent.

The official policy for consumer class PC's is driver support is removed upon the PC reaching 10 years of age.

But here is a working driver support page for the old dv6000 (ca 2007) notebook series which is about 7 or 8 years older than the 15-AN051DX!

Dell, one of HP's main competitors, doesn't have such a policy.

You can still get full driver support for all of their PC's going back at least 25 years if not longer.

There are enthusiasts out there who like to run legacy PC's and with HP, they are at a huge disadvantage.

You take care, too and Happy Holidays!

Paul
