HP EliteBook x360 1030 G3 Notebook PC (2ZV69AV)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Went to use my Elitebook x360  1030 G3 the other day and even though it had been on the charger all night it only had 15% once it had used that 15% it wouldn't take a charge or power on at all. I have only had it for 6 months and only use it for online school so it's still covered by the factory warranty for hardware and labor. I took it to Best buy because HP told me they were an authorized repair facility and the guy there told me he would have to ship it to HP to have the repair done under the warranty. This morning I got an email that says it's not covered by the warranty and it will cost me $1300 but nowhere have they said what the actual repair needed actually is. I called the guy at Best buy and he couldn't even figure out what it could be needing that would cost so much. Does anyone know what it could possibly be and why they would charger so much to fix it?

@Mvraspir

That is normal, they may have to spend more time + parts (such as system board) to fix your machine. In many cases buying new machine would me the way to go.

Hope that makes sense.

Regards.

It doesn't really help, the part that is most confusing is why  cannot get anyone to tell me what the repair actually is that they are saying s $1300 and it's brand new I am the only owner the website says I am supposed to be covered by the warranty for 2 more years and I looked it up, my warranty covers a replacement battery, labor, shipping, and any charging hardware such as the port. I have never downloaded anything that wasn't directly from my school so I couldn't have anything that corrupted via the software......

At that price the only thing it could be is the motherboard and it is even high for that. Keep plugging away with HP Support is all I can recommend. We have no direct line into the Repair Center records.
