HP Recommended

I just got an HP rp5700 from my local scrap yard, I plugged it in a few minutes ago, and it gave me the 5 beeps, ok whatever, it didn’t have any memory in it so I put in a HDD and 2 cards of RAM, still gave me the 5 beeps, so I tried switching them to the other side, same thing, so I just tried one card in each slot, didn’t work, didn’t work, didn’t work, didn’t work, so I have no idea why it’s not working

It's probably one of two things...

You installed incompatible DDR2-6400 memory, or the motherboard is dead which is why it was in the scrap yard in the first place.

See the troubleshooting guide, Appendix A page 58 for how to troubleshoot the 5-beep code error.
