Hello,

I've been having issues charging my laptops for both USB C ports, I had to move the cable until it seems to "connect". But a couple of days ago no matter what I do loving the cable, it's is just not charging. I've always thought that might be the AC adapter (as at least one of the ports worked just fine with the dock to connect HDMI) so, I bought a new AC charger, but NOTHIGH HAPPENED! It's not charging! I've read many communities notes and tried resetting it by pressing power button and F6, disconnect and reconnect the battery and everything that I can without any power left on the battery, but nothing works. I've read that it might be that ports are failing, or something with the BIOS (which by the way it was updated a couple of weeks ago) or SW/drivers... I've read that if the ports (DC jacks?) are damaged, the motherboard needs to be replaced (which I've heard it's pretty expensive and doesn't worth it honestly! This laptop was very expensive to begin with and this port charging issue seems to be VERY common and there is no recall or any HP significant support). So, I would like to know if anybody can help me with what my options are for:
1) Charge my battery externally, so I can troubleshoot any BIOS, SW, port issues. Is there an <span;>external laptop battery charger compatible for this model?
2) If I can not charge my battery externally, how could I ensure that the ports are the ones failing?

I'd appreciate any comments.

Thanks.
Never again I'll get an HP

From your description, there is a physical problem with the ports.

I happen to own the very same laptop.

No, this is not a common issue.

If you connect a USB Type-C flash drive and it does nothing at all, the port issue has been verified.
