HP thunderbolt dock 230w G2 and Elitebook 850 G8

I am asking for help to clarify compatibility of HP Thunderbolt Dock 230W G2 w/ Combo Cable and HP Elitebook 850 G8

I currently have Elitebook 850 G5 laptop used with docking station named "HP Thunderbolt Dock 230W G2 w/ Combo Cable" 2UK38AA, where power and thunderbolt outputs are tied together (also on laptop side thunderbolt port and power ports are neighbors).

I am asking if there is a way to be able to continue to use the existing docking station with HP Elitebook 850 G8, where power/thunderbolt ports on laptop side are not neighbors anymore, or there is no way to use this docking station with Elitebook 850 G8, and I should purchase HP thunderbolt dock 120w G2?

Thanks for the fast response and for the info!

What confused me is, that I am having combo cable tied together applied with my thunderbolt g2 230w, which will not fit into 850 G8, due to the fact, that in 850 G8, thunderbolt and power ports are not neighbors anymore (as those are on 850 G5).

Just realized, that it is possible to disassemble the bottom of the docking, and replace existing cable to:

3XB96UT (combo cable, but power and thunderbolt are not tied together)

or

3XB94UT (single thunderbolt cable)
